The Great British Bake Off Recipes by Linda Collister

The Great British Bake Off Recipes by Linda Collister

I discovered baking about 5/6 years ago when I had to spend a few months off work and was bored. I had tried previously to bake but could never get it together. So with time on my hands I decided to give it a go and wow how I got on. The problem was that my need to bake outstripped the ability of my family to eat so when I returned to work I brought in a cake a week and what an amazing difference that made to my management style. Suddenly the staff were easier to motivate and would do just about anything to please. It didn't even matter if my effort proved to be decidedly average - it was free and so it was OK. Why didn't they mention this in any of the hours of leadership training I had sat through over the years. So get baking and your staff will love you.

I bought this book a couple of years ago as I have extended my baking books to accommodate my new love of baking. Having purchased a kitchen aid at the same time it was double heaven as I played with the new recipes and my new toy. I must admit that the book is a good one to look at but I had presumed from the cover that it was a Mary Berry book and it was not until I looked closer that I saw that the recipes were by Linda Collister. I have to admit that this put me off and I haven't cooked anything from it but on second viewing it seems to have a lot going for it and lots of bread recipes, and I love making bread - the kitchen aid excels at making dough, so perhaps I need to look at it again and pick out some recipes to feed up the boys at home.
