I can't remember when, or how, I heard of Rose Grey and Ruth Rogers and their River Cafe. I know it was a long time ago and I also think it was by osmosis, through my obsession for eating, reading about and cooking food.
I have had my eye on this book for years but have never been in the right place at the right time with the cash to buy it. However, all of that was about to change as I was on Amazon one night browsing and this book leapt out at me. At last the time was right ... I would finally have this book.
The two authors are legends and I am really interested to see how this translates to the home cook, as experience has shown that resturant food does not always work ... in my kitchen anyway. The book is nicely put togther with lots of pictures and a modern vibe to it. My first effort of Penne with Tomato and Balsamic Vinager was excellent and this book shows promise. Keep an eye on the blog for more.
